Privacy Policy
What happens to your text, your preferences and your visit.
Last updated: 2026-08-30
The short version
The text you type into a tool on TextTidyTools is processed inside your browser. It is never transmitted to us, and we have no copy of it.
Text you enter into the tools
Every counter, converter and generator on this site runs as JavaScript in your browser tab. When you type or paste text, the calculation happens on your device and the result is written back into the page. There is no server-side processing step and no upload request. We cannot read your text, and we could not retrieve it later even if we were asked to.
Two consequences follow. First, closing or reloading the tab discards your text unless you have turned on the optional autosave switch described below. Second, no analytics or advertising script on the page receives the contents of any input box.
Local storage on your device
The site uses your browser's local storage for a small number of preferences:
- Your light or dark theme choice.
- The option settings of individual tools, so a tool opens the way you last left it.
- Your list of recently used and favorited tools.
- The text of a tool, only when you explicitly turn on "Remember this text on this device" for that tool.
Local storage stays on your device. It is not synchronized to us. You can erase all of it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings, and the autosaved text for a tool is deleted the moment you switch that tool's autosave off.
Cookies
The site itself does not set cookies for its own features — preferences use local storage instead, and the Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon described under Analytics sets no cookie either. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga and _ga_<container>) to tell repeat visits apart, but only after you accept on the banner. They expire after two years and hold a randomly generated identifier, not your name or your text. If advertising is shown, Google and its partners may also set advertising cookies — the Advertising section below explains how and how to opt out.
Analytics
We ask on your first visit whether we may count visits with Google Analytics 4, and we honour the answer. Until you accept, the analytics script is never downloaded: no request reaches Google and no Google Analytics cookie is set. Declining, or ignoring the banner entirely, means Google receives nothing about your visit.
One measurement request is not covered by that choice, and it is fairer to name it than to leave it out. Our host runs Cloudflare Web Analytics, which adds a small script (static.cloudflareinsights.com/beacon.min.js) to every page as it is served and posts one page-view record back to Cloudflare. It runs on all visits, including a visit that declines the banner, because it is injected by the hosting platform rather than by the page's own code. It sets no cookie, uses no local storage, does not fingerprint your browser, does not follow you to other sites, and — like everything else here — never sees the text you type. If you would rather it did not run, any content blocker that blocks cloudflareinsights.com stops it, and the tools work exactly the same.
If you do accept, Google Analytics records page addresses, referring pages, approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device and browser information. It never records the contents of a tool's input box — that content never leaves your browser, and the analytics snippet is given nothing but the page address.
Your choice is stored on your device and you can change it whenever you like. Withdrawing consent deletes the analytics cookies and reloads the page so the script stops running:
You can also opt out for every site by installing Google's official browser add-on, or block googletagmanager.com with any content blocker. The tools work the same either way.
Advertising
To cover its costs, this site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and opt out of many other third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info. Ads never receive the text you type into a tool — that text stays in your browser tab, as described above.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served as static files by Cloudflare Pages. Like all web hosts, Cloudflare processes standard request information — IP address, timestamp, requested file, user agent — to deliver pages and protect against abuse, and its own privacy documentation describes what it retains. This happens for every request, before any script on the page runs, and it is separate from the tools themselves: it never includes your text.
Third-party services
Everything the tools themselves need comes from this site: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SVG icons. There are no external fonts, no third-party script libraries and no embedded widgets in the tool code. Three external components can appear: the Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon described above, which our host adds to every page; the Google Analytics tag, only after you accept; and, if advertising is ever enabled, the Google AdSense script. All three load outside the tool's processing path and none is given anything you type.
Your rights
Because we do not collect personal data through the tools, there is normally nothing for us to export or delete on request. Where the third-party analytics provider has processed data about your visit, your rights are exercised through that provider, and their policies explain how. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us at [email protected] and we will respond. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over data held by those providers — including access, correction, deletion and objection — which you can exercise directly with them.
Children
This site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service on this site, contact us and we will help you take it up with the provider.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Because your text is never transmitted, the usual risk of interception in transit does not apply to it. Text saved with the optional autosave switch is stored unencrypted in your browser's local storage, so avoid using that switch on a shared or public computer.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, because a new third-party service is added — the date at the top of the page will be updated. Material changes will be described in the section they affect rather than buried in a summary.
